BAR/BAT-MITZVAH
PROGRAM
"The world stands on three things:
on Torah, on worship, and on deeds of loving kindness"
-Pirkei Avot 12 (Ethics of the Fathers)
Mazel tov on choosing to become a Bar/Bat Mitzvah! This is one of the most joyous times in the life 0f any family. The TBTST curriculum of the B’nei Mitzvah program goes beyond the customary skills of Torah/Haftarah reading and prayer chanting. The word Bar or Bat Mitzvah literally means, "someone responsible for the commandments". It is a noun, not a verb. At a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, we welcome the child into the Jewish community. As a result, we believe in training our B'nei Mitzvah to not only learn the set curriculum, but to also learn what it means to accept personal responsibility for Jewish ritual and mitzvot.
Through TBTST Religious School, Shabbat experiences and mitzvah projects, our program offers your family a chance to feel the rhythm and depth of Jewish life. Our goal is to assure that this is a positive and meaningful experience for your entire family. TBTST is here to support you and make this milestone a memorable one!
This Bar/Bat Mitzvah is not the end of your child's Jewish life but rather, just the beginning.
We invite B'nei Mitzvah families to view our HANDBOOK containing all necessary information for your Bar/Bat Mitzvah journey. We look forward to joining you in preparing your children for their entrance into Jewish adulthood! When you are ready to begin to start learning our TBTST prayers/melodies.
