Sisterhood

Temple Beth Torah Sha’aray Tzedek Sisterhood is a multigenerational group of women, committed to supporting the synagogue and its youth programs, to Jewish learning, participation in social action initiatives, and developing friendships by just having a good time. Our membership is made up of dynamic women of all ages, joining together to strengthen our Temple family.

Our annual Sisterhood calendar is filled with many diverse activities. Our monthly free programming is open to everyone, members and non-members alike, and has included a variety of topics, including, cooking demonstrations, crafts, women’s health and finance, exercise and more. Free programming is held at 7PM, the first Thursday of every month from October / November through May / June. Watch the Scroll for more information, as well as flyers and email notices.

We also hold paid programming events as fund raisers, and to promote social connections. Annual events have included the Holiday Boutique and Book and Author Luncheon and our annual Fashion Show. Jewish learning is of course, also a component of Sisterhood, and is demonstrated in our annual Sisterhood Shabbat, a day in which Sisterhood members lead and participate in religious services. We have also gathered in the past for Women’s Seder, Rosh Chodesh picnic and learning, and more.

Our group is only as good as its members, and we hope that you will join our ranks and get involved. Sisterhood Board meetings are held the third Thursday of every month at 7Pm in the Synagogue. They are open to any Sisterhood members wanting to participate in the planning and leadership process.
